Why Wild Mint is Special
Wild mint grows on its own along streams and field edges in the cold desert of Ladakh. Through the short mountain summer, the strong sun and cold nights give the leaves a sharp, fresh smell and a cooling taste that is stronger than regular garden mint.
In Ladakhi homes, dried wild mint has long been kept through the winter and added to tea and food. Ours is whole dried leaf, picked by hand and dried slowly, so the colour and the smell stay inside the leaf until you brew it.
Benefits
- Naturally Caffeine Free: A light, fresh drink with no caffeine, good for any time of the day.
- Traditionally Taken After Meals: Mint has long been taken after food in Himalayan homes to help digestion.
- Fresh and Cooling: Mint leaves naturally contain menthol, which gives the tea its cool, refreshing feel.
- Rich in Plant Antioxidants: Mint leaves naturally contain polyphenols and other plant compounds.
- Whole Leaf, Not Dust: Only dried leaves go in the jar, which keeps the aroma and taste strong.
How to Consume
Add one teaspoon of mint leaves to a cup (200 ml) of hot water. Cover and wait 4 to 5 minutes, then strain and drink. Add honey if you like a little sweetness. One jar gives about 20 cups.
Why Siachen Naturals
Our mint grows wild in Sham Valley, along the Indus in Ladakh. The leaves are picked by hand by local farming families and dried naturally so they keep their colour and smell. Through Siachen Naturals, every jar helps support farmers in Sham Valley while keeping alive a way of harvesting that has been part of Ladakh's culture for generations.
Wild from Ladakh. Made with care.
